How to Prepare for Your First Umrah from the UAE — 1
Umrah is one of the most meaningful journeys a Muslim can make. If you are travelling from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, or anywhere across the UAE for the first time, a clear plan removes most of the stress — leaving room for focus on worship.
At Aljoker Travel we walk first-time pilgrims through the same checklist we use in our Abu Dhabi office. Use this guide as a starting point, then confirm details with our team for the season you are travelling.
1. Documents & passport readiness
Start here before you compare hotels or flight dates. Incomplete documents are the most common reason for delays.
- Passport — minimum 6 months validity beyond your planned return date
- UAE Residence Visa / Emirates ID — valid copy for every adult passenger
- Photos — white background, as per current Saudi Umrah visa specification
- Family details — mahram relationships, ages of children, previous Umrah/Hajj history
- Vaccination / health forms — as required by Saudi authorities for your travel month
2. Choosing the right package from UAE
Decide these points early so quotes stay comparable:
- Duration — most UAE families choose 10–21 days; our 15-day economy and 12-day premium packages are the most popular
- Room sharing — Quad, Triple, Double, or Single (price and comfort vary greatly)
- Hotel distance — walking distance to Haram vs short shuttle; elderly guests usually need closer hotels
- Departure airport — AUH (Abu Dhabi), DXB (Dubai), SHJ (Sharjah), or AAN (Al Ain)
- Travel month — Ramadan, school holidays, and peak weekends cost more; book early
3. Spiritual & practical preparation
Learn the Umrah sequence (Ihram, Tawaf, Sa'i, Halq/Taqsir) from a reliable teacher before you fly. Pack light: Ihram cloth, comfortable sandals, a small prayer mat, basic medicines, and a power bank. Keep prescriptions in hand luggage.
Confirm assembly time, group leader contact, and hotel check-in plan with our Abu Dhabi desk at least 48 hours before departure.
4. Money & payments (AED only)
This website is inquiry-only. All deposits and balances are confirmed in AED by bank transfer or office visit after we lock dates and hotels. Ask for an itemised breakdown in AED covering visa, hotels, transport, Ziyarat, and any flight component.
Ready to start?
Submit an inquiry with your passenger count, preferred month, departure emirate, and room type — or open a custom Umrah request. Our Abu Dhabi team typically responds within 24 hours.
